Burning Life in a nutshell – last chance to see! October 5, 2008

This is the third and last part of the “BL in a nutshell” series (if you missed the other parts, you can find them here, here and here). Originally I had planned four parts but my internet connection went down yesterday evening and only came back this afternoon! čśŽ Out of time reasons I can’t cover the rest of the awesome installations that I already visited or still have to see, but I would like to refer you to the “Burning Life” Flickr group with lots of great images, many of them with landmarks!

I am very sad that BL is finishing so soon today because one week was by far not enough for me to see all the installations, attend more events and enjoy the great atmosphere. When I registered for SL last year, I stumbled across this large festival in the middle of the desert and was deeply amazed by the installations, many of them that would not have been possible in real life as they were. Unfortunately, at that time I didn’t know a lot of people and I have no idea if Flickr was already that active back then, so I could not really share my impressions with others.

Burning Life this year was the most amazing experience for me. Being able to use the Windlight viewer made taking photos so much more fun and looking at other peoples’s images in Flickr did let me discover many places that I might have missed otherwise. If somebody would have told me a year ago that we had our own build this year, I would never have believed it. A big thank you to everyone who stopped at “Blasts from the Past” and who joined us at the parties, you made us very happy! We had a lot of fun and we hope that we will be able to participate in Burning Life again next year.

But enough words, here are the landmarks!
